Unit 1
Introduction to International Maritime Logistics
- Basics of maritime transport, various modes of transportation via sea
- organisation of sea and land transport, supply chain management of sea transport
Unit 2
Major & Minor Commodities - 10 hrs
- Categories of Dry bulk Commodity, Grain, Minerals, steel products
- Stowage factors, IMSBC code, Port v/s Commodity, Coal, Iron Ore and Wheat
Unit 3
UNCTAD Report
- Latest UNCTAD report, Economics of transport
- Maritime trade in different countries, Numbers and sizes of bulk carriers
Unit 4
Charter Party Clauses
- Bunker clause, Sistership clause, New Jason Clause, Hague-visby rules
- Both to blame collision clause, Himalaya clause
Unit 5
Merchant Shipping Act
- Application of MSA, registration of Ship, Unseaworthy Ship
- Unsafe Ship, Articles of Agreement, Marine Casualty, duties of a master
Unit 6
UNCLOS
- Demarcation and delimitation of the boundaries, Freedom at high seas
- duties of flag state, nationality of the ship, Piracy at high seas, Innocent passage
